Launch applications from the menu bar

When you get too many icons in your Mac Dock it stops being effective at what it's designed to – that is, simply provide quick access to the programs it contains.

aLunch is an application launcher that is installed in the menu bar and lets you create groups of programs. Insert here the applications you use less often and that don't fit in your Dock.

A semitransparent pull-out menu lets you access a specific group of programs, which you activate via a keyboard shortcut that should be configured beforehand. You can also display a submenu containing the applications that are currently running, or make the icons bigger if you think they're too small.
